90% of the images on this site were taken in the Coventry area.

The above picture was taken with one of those 'hang in your window crystals' held over the lens. It was sent to me by a young lady from Chichester, called Gracie Mc Stacey. Beautiful blackberry blossoms.

In these days of Credid Crunches (a gift for the poor droves), terrorism, war, crime, hoodie yobbery etc, people are taking the hint and feeling 'bad'. This then reflects in their outside world and produces more bad, and keeps what's there in place. The world then seems an ugly place, and we lose respect for it; and that will eventually lead to our demise as a species. So, what this site is about, is 'beauty', and hopefully some WoW Beauty, just to show that even a dirty city can have pieces of colourful magic. The images are things that aren't usually taken notice of by people. They aren't that type where the photographer has gone to some exotic location and waited for that perfect cloud formation or sunset (or both); our shots are simple (which reflects the photographer). If you visit our other site, drywater, you'll eventually find that the whole world is simple, and life is utterly simple. Simplicity anf beauty go hand in hand, and the world, even the dirtiest bits hole beauty. Look for it, and enjoy it. Blimey... we even have an online cafe where you can go and have a laugh (but you have to make your own coffee).

Don't be surprised to find hints and 'grace notes' (I've been reading wine bottle labels again) of sometimes irreverent humour amongst the images, because sometimes the 'truth' is irresistable. What's life without humour, and the ability to live without having one's head in the sand? (That habit is for ostriches, not humans... humans usually have theirs up their ***** actually; sand being horrible if it gets in your eyes and mouth. LAUGH!).

Not so long ago, some lady said to me in an art fair, ‘I love the way you can tell the story of each picture’. I have also been told by people and photo people too ‘well spotted’. I’m a ‘look at what other people ignore’ person, which is why I call the whole collection 'Taken for Granted'. My photo opportunity is usually found in a place other people with cameras walk past to the ‘obvious’ shot. It’s all to do with awareness, and a willingness to observe the world around you.

This then is a gallery with explanations...or even a little online course which you can use to improve your own eye (unless you could wipe the floor with me already that is). If however you’d like to buy a print for your wall, as some have; feel free to get in contact.
